This recipe turns solid wholemeal bread into a soft, tasty and delicious delight for those that may be a little reluctant to eat solid wholemeal bread.
Recipe
Crack an egg into a flat bottom bowl and add about the same volume of milk. Beat the two together with a fork and add finely chopped parsley, chives, curry powder, pepper or other seasonings to taste.
Cut thick slices of wholemeal bread and cut in half for easy handling and soak thoroughly on both sides in the egg/milk mix.
Place in a hot wide frying pan with a little olive oil and cook on both sides till speckled brown.
