A simple tent stove- with no need for a damper?
This unusual simple tent stove is ultralight and compact for winter backpacking. The simple design means that it has no need for an air control, damper or spark arrestor.
The simple tent stove
The simple tent stove also is unlike most other box tent stoves in that it cleanly burns only 7g of wood sticks/minute which makes the combustion hot, clean, efficient, and complete. Above all else, it is easy to keep fueled with simple bush sticks that feed themselves down into the inferno as they burn off at the bottom.
Only two holes
The simplicity of the stove is such that it has only two holes. One hole holds the long fuel sticks that dry them in preparation for combustion. The same hole also serves as the air inlet and the downward rush of air keeps the charcoal burning brightly and that provides heat to cleanly and completely burn the wood gas in a turbulent and moving flame.
Compact packing for backpacking
The stove uses a roll up stove pipe and the whole shebang fits inside its custom cooking pot and makes a compact backpacking load.
